Looking for the source code to the old Genesis games.?
Looking for games specifically WWF (Wrestlemania Arcade Game) I have to PC but I have no knowledge or resources to be able to decode it for educational purposes. I tried to access MAME, but the server is acting up. So, Does anyone know where I can find the source code for this specific game or any of the titles of wrestling? Also, if the code is not available, then where can I find the resources to see my game wrestlemania? Yes I guess as much about the source. What I am trying to do is just learn as much you can look to the source. My understanding is that most games are written in C + +. I also understand that it is almost impossible to decipher the cd thing. Its been very frustrating and sparing Waite Sams Teach Yourself C + + OOP books and wondered how any of that is implemented in game programming with apparent branch of the theory and any application.
Most computer / video games are closed source. That means that unless you're willing to pay for it, and game creator is willing to sell, there's no way you can get. There are some exceptions ... id Software released the source code for Wolfenstein 3D, years later the game was released, and recently did the same to the Quake engine. There are a few open source games also. No way to "decode" a piece of software, except the dismantling, and trust me when I say it is a futile effort. What exactly are you trying to do?-IR
